Works Timeline
The works will start in September – with full completion predicted for June 2025. The project will be completed in stages, and the gym will be the first of the facilities to be refurbished, with plans to reopen in early 2025. A temporary gym is now open in the sports hall to allow for these works to take place.
The 1st floor viewing/spectator area will be closed from Monday 16th September 2024 whilst refurbishment works take place.
Phase 2 of the development work will begin on Thursday 2nd January. During this time, we have made several adjustments to minimise disruption. Some changes which may impact how you use the centre are below:
- From Monday 6th January we will utilise a temporary entrance/exit for all users. Please follow the signage from the car park which will take you through the outdoor lido area and in into our temporary reception where our colleagues will be happy to assist you.
- Our soft play area will close at 14:00 on Tuesday 31st December after which point it will remain closed until work is completed.
- Sports Hall users will be asked to check in at Reception, then follow the signage to use the double white doors going directly into the hall.
- Time/Location of Group Exercise classes may have been moved so please check the latest timetable.
- Lockers within our new fitness changing rooms require a padlock rather than a £1 coin.
There will be disruption to services, but they have been planned to be as minimal as possible. The centre will be relocating various classes and activities within the site to avoid the need for closure and ensure that customers continue to receive an excellent service.
