Jubilant colleagues at Lammas Leisure Centre are celebrating after the centre was rated ‘excellent’ for service quality.
The facility, run by leading operator Everyone Active in partnership with Ashfield District Council, underwent a one-day Quest assessment.
Quest is a continuous improvement tool for leisure facilities and sports development teams,
and is managed by Right Directions on behalf of Sport England.
Lammas Leisure Centre achieved an ‘excellent’ banding score, attained by only 22% of Quest-registered centres across the country.
The site, a popular venue with people of all ages and interests, scored highly in many areas within the mystery visit and formal assessment elements.
These included tackling inequalities, customer journey, operational management, managing the team, environmental management and statutory declaration.
The report also praised the centre’s diverse, inclusive programme of activities and pricing structure, as well as its health and wellbeing agendas.
Lammas Leisure Centre’s state-of-the-art facilities include a 120-station gym, two swimming pools, an ice rink, group fitness and cycling studios, an indoor bowls hall, squash courts, a soft play, TAGactive Arena and health hub.
Everyone Active’s contract manager, Lorenzo Clark, said: “We are delighted with the outcome and believe it is nothing more than the centre and its team deserve.
“The Quest scheme is very customer focused and as such, quality facilities alone will not result in a ‘excellent’ banding being secured.
“This is only achieved through strong teams of colleagues delivering consistently high standards of customer service to the communities they serve.”
Cllr Jason Zadrozny, Leader at Ashfield District Council, said: “Receiving this ‘excellent’ accreditation is testament to the hard work and dedication we have to bringing Ashfield leisure facilities we can be proud of.
“Being ‘excellent’ means we have proven we can deliver a varied activity programme in a clean and well-maintained environment.
“This fantastic work at Lammas Leisure Centre is just another example of how we are working to create healthy and sustainable places to promote good health and happiness so everyone in our communities can live healthier for longer.”
