We’re delighted to share the news that Aquatics and Wellbeing Director and CEO of The SLM Community Leisure Charitable Trust, Jacqui Tillman, has been shortlisted for Outstanding Individual Leadership Award and Nicole Fox, Contract Activity & Wellbeing Manager in Westminster and Westway for Physical Activity Hero Award.
Jacqui’s Amazing Achievements
With a career at Everyone Active – SLM spanning over 30 years, Jacqui is an inspiration to the organisation and the wider industry. Leading a teaching workforce of 3,500 people, she has developed the industry’s largest and most successful swim scheme.
Our swim programme has grown continually under Jacqui’s lead, with 184,000 swim lesson students attending weekly, 12.8m swims annually and an 19% increase in the number of swimming teachers employed.
With an additional focus now on wellbeing, her team has already provided over 15,000 Ukrainian guests, more than 3,500 people living with Parkinson’s in partnership with Parkinson’s UK, 600 cared-for-children and 1,900 care experienced individuals with free memberships across our estate. In addition, doubling the membership of our GP exercise referral scheme in just 12 months!
Nicole’s Dedication to go Above and Beyond
Her achievements at Everyone Active have been remarkable. She assumed the role of managing the Neighbourhood Sports Clubs (NSC) programme aged just 22 in 2016. In eight years, she has more than doubled its provision, while navigating the Covid lockdown.
When she took the role, 64 hours of free-to-access community activity were being delivered each week. Now, 150 hours are delivered every week to disadvantaged people who live, work or study in Westminster.
Nicole also leads a team of coaches and trainers delivering activity across the community, away from Everyone Active’s sites. Engaging people who maybe avoid going to a leisure centre due to anxiety, cost, disability or culture – helping break down barriers.
Window closes on 30th August, so get your votes in!
