Have you ever considered that you might have the next Emma Raducanu or Andy Murray living in your home? Well, now you’ll be able to find out, thanks to Everyone Active Tennis Courses. These are fantastic courses that will get your kids enthused about this wonderful sport and help them develop new skills, as well as build on those they’ve already got. As ever, these tennis courses have a well-defined progression pathway for all students, primarily based on age, but also ability, with those showing real aptitude invited into the ‘Squad’ programme. This will help ensure no-one gets promoted beyond their ability, but also that everyone is challenged to the correct degree.
Learn the basics. Young kids are bundles of energy and enjoy just running around without a care in the world. But the programme is designed to finesse their fine motor skills such as balance, agility and coordination. At this stage, it’s not about winning or losing but just getting to grips with the fundamental skills of tennis.
Players will learn to serve, rally and score with a slower red ball, as well as learning the movement and co-ordination skills needed for tennis.
At this stage, players will develop a rounded game, learning a range of techniques and tactics. Courts are bigger and wider than the red stage but still smaller than full-size tennis courts. There are team and individual competitions with matches using tie-break scoring.
This is for children ready to test their skills on a full-sized court. The sessions use green balls which are slightly lower pressured than professional-quality balls. We aim to help children into the sport by making it easier for them to develop their skills.
At the Yellow stage, children are now playing on a full size court with the balls the professionals use. Children will continue to explore different game styles and start to find their own. They will evolve through well-rounded motor skills development while improving their physical capacities.
Performance squads are invitation-only for those who play to a high standard and compete all year round. These players should aspire to develop their tennis to the highest level and dedicate maximum effort and intensity to their squads. These sessions offer a competitive and structured environment with a consistent group of dedicated players working through progressive drills, points and tactical play. Each weekly session covers a tactical theme with individual technical teaching points as well as a strength and conditioning program. In return for commitment from players and parents, our coaching team are fully committed to each player’s development. The squad system runs alongside the main ‘Mini Tennis’ programme from the ‘Red’ level onwards, with a Squad equivalent to each main age group.
