Climbing is a fantastic sport. Your child will learn hand-eye co-ordination, as well as developing fantastic whole-body strength and stamina. It’s also great fun! There are five main stages to this course, all of which have been designed by NICAS (National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme). Each stage is separated depending on your child’s age.
It all starts with the Pre Nicas stage, which is designed for kids aged 5-6. These sessions are an hour long and are ideal for getting young kids into climbing for the first time. It then splits off into two age ranges, the classes for which are all 90 minutes long. Those aged 7-11 go up through Levels 1, 2 and 3 and, if they’ve reached a certain level of proficiency, they can be invited to the Climbing Academy. Meanwhile, those aged 12-15 start at Level 1 and can progress up to Level 4. Like with the younger children, once they reach the pinnacle of the main pathway and have reached a high level of proficiency, they can then be invited to the Climbing Academy, which runs all the way up to the age of 17.
As well as some of the more traditional sports you might expect a leisure operator such as Everyone Active to offer, at selected sites, you can also enjoy ice and winter sports, including ice skating and dry slope skiing. These classes are fantastic fun and a great way to learn something new or build on already-developed skills. Both ice skating and skiing courses follow well-defined pathways that encompass both age ranges and attainment levels. These ensure your child progresses at the correct rate, always challenging them, but never going beyond or below their ability.
These 30 minute sessions are divided into eight main stages, with a Skate Tots stage for younger children aged 3-4. For those aged 5-15, the Skate UK-accredited Levels are 1-8 before they split off into Bronze, Silver and Gold Star awards for either Ice dance or Free Skating
We’ve got six stages of development for skiers, beginning with the Polar 1 Star award, which is divided between 4-6 and 7-15 year-old age groups. These then progress all the way through together for kids aged between 4 and 15 to the Polar 5 Star Award. All classes, apart from the Polar 1 Star Award classes (60 minutes) are 90 minutes long.
There’s not much more to say about the national sport, is there? Needless to say this is one of our most popular courses, teaching technique and teamwork as well as the fundamental skills needed for this most popular of sports. It’s also a great way to get your kids running around, indulging their love of the beautiful game. Like all our other courses, there’s a robust progression pathway for everyone. This helps ensure your child advances at the right pace for them. This will help make sure they enjoy getting active as well as learning something new, without advancing too quickly or reiterating thing they already know.
Youngsters aged 2-4 enter at the Junior Football Star Stage, then slightly older children begin the programme at the Junior Football Level 1 stage. They can then progress through to Levels 2 and 3. Older children, aged 8-11 enter the programme at the Junior Football Level 4 stage and stay with us right through to the final Junior Football Level 6 stage. All classes last an hour, apart from the Junior Football Star classes, which take 45 minutes.
If your child sees themselves as the next Andy Murray or Emma Raducanu, just really loves tennis, or wants to try something new, then why don’t they give our Tennis Sports Courses a go? These fantastic courses aim to inject fun into this wonderful sport. They’ll learn hand-eye co-ordination, as well as discipline and expend plenty of energy running around! As ever, these tennis courses have a well-defined progression pathway for all students, primarily based on age.
Youngsters aged 3-4 start at the Mini Tennis Blue Stage and, once they’re old enough and have completed the syllabus, they can progress to the next stage; Mini Tennis Red. This is for kids aged 4-7 and once they’ve completed that syllabus and reached the age of 8, they can progress to the next stage. This is Mini Tennis Orange, which then moves on to Mini Tennis Green and Mini Tennis Yellow, the age ranges for which are 10-11 and 12-15 respectively.
If players are showing particular aptitude for the game, they can be invited to join the squad system from the age of 4 onwards. Each ‘Mini’ programme has its own Squad running alongside it, so there’s the Squad Tennis Red, Squad tennis Orange, Squad Tennis Green and Squad Tennis Yellow, each of which corresponds to the same age group as its Mini Tennis counterpart. All sessions are 60 minutes long, apart from Mini Tennis Blue sessions, which are 45 minutes in duration.
If your children love to dance, then we’ve definitely got you covered, with a variety of styles to choose from. There’s classic, elegant ballet, tap, modern, acrobatic, street and even jazz so whatever takes your kids’ fancy, there’s sure to be something here for them. As always, there are thorough development pathways for all the different dance styles we have on offer, depending on age and proficiency.
Jazz dancing has just five levels, starting with Mini jazz and progressing through Bronze, Silver and Gold, all the way through to Advanced Jazz. All the other styles have between 10 and 15 levels, with different entry points for children of certain age groups and ability levels. Once your child has completed the syllabus in one level, they will be given the opportunity to move up to the next level. All dance classes are 30 minutes in duration.
Everyone loves trampolining right? So what could be more fun than learning how to do it better? In this fantastic course, your child will learn loads of tricks and how to do them safely. Trampolining is also fantastic exercise, improving core strength, flexibility and is a great cardio workout too! As with all our classes, there’s a robust, easy-to-follow progression pathway for all the students, with everyone starting at Level 1 of the Trampolining proficiency Award. Classes are split into three age groups – 4-7, 8-10 and 11-15 – and once they’ve completed the syllabus in each level, they will be offered the opportunity to move on to the next level, all the way up to Level 15.
