Everyone Active’s Outdoor Swimming Pools

As well as more than 130 indoor pools, Everyone Active also operates a number of outdoor swimming pools and lidos. These are perfect for fun family days out during the school holidays, making the most of the best that the British weather has to offer and, especially this year, could be the closest thing we get to going abroad for a while.

We have five outdoor swimming pool facilities operating currently, located all over the country, each of which offers something slightly different. Some are outdoor pools attached to larger leisure centres which also feature indoor pools. Others, meanwhile, are standalone outdoor swimming pools and lidos, some of which are located right next to the sea, for that authentic seaside, holiday feel.

Our outdoor swimming pools are open during the warmer months each year.

Everyone Active’s Outdoor Swimming Pools

Our outdoor swimming pools and lidos offer something for everyone and are perfect for the whole family. While our indoor pools are more famed for swimming lessons and lane swimming sessions, as well as fun swimming, the outdoor pools also are almost completely focused on ensuring you and your family have as much fun in the water as possible.

Ashby Leisure Centre & Lido

The 30m by 10m heated main pool is available for fun public swimming sessions throughout the summer season, while it can also be hired for parties and other private events. We now also offer a new Ashby-by-the-Sea sandpit feature with climbing frame and brand new catering hub available for refreshments.

Hemel Hempstead Leisure Centre

Hemel Hempstead boasts two wonderful outdoor swimming pools. There’s the 25m main pool where kids and the whole family can play games and swim around enjoying themselves, while there’s also the kid’s paddling pool, which features fountains for children to play in. If this all gets a little too exhausting, you can always relax round the edge of the pool too. Just don’t forget the shades and the sun cream! If you are looking to brave the cold water, during the winter months the unheated outdoor pool is open for cold water dips, social swimming and lane swimming.

Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre

The jewel in the crown of the Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre is the fabulous 50m heated lido. What better way to enjoy those sun-filled summer days than with a dip in an outdoor pool? There’s both a smaller, shallower pool for kids to enjoy, while the larger pool is ideal for both leisure and lane swimming. You don’t have to wait until the sun’s out, either. A bracing outdoor swim will do you the world of good – whatever the weather!

Letchworth Lido

When the sun’s out, there’s nothing better than taking a refreshing swim in an outdoor pool and the 50m heated pool and smaller teaching pool at Letchworth Lido are the perfect place to do just that. Both are situated in the beautiful environs of Letchworth’s Norton Common, giving the lido a fantastic atmosphere.

Northcroft Lido
Northcroft Lido

Open during the summer months, Northcroft Lido is a heated outdoor swimming pool that allows you to enjoy the water, the sunshine and the fresh air at the same time. It’s ideal for having fun in the water with family and friends, as well as on the splash pad or enjoying the spiral flume. The 50m, Olympic length, lido is ideal for some ‘al fresco’ lane swimming to help you stay active and healthy too. The complex also features a large number of standard and accessible changing facilities. It’s very popular when the sun’s out, so don’t forget to book in advance to avoid disappointment!
