Learning how to make a bolognese is almost a rite of passage, but making a great one is something else entirely. It’s amazingly simple, too. You don’t need a pile of ingredients, just a few really good ones and it’s guaranteed to taste amazing. This will serve between three and four people, making it the perfect simple, tasty family dinner.
Bolognese Ingredients
Beef mince – 300g
Garlic – 1 clove
Beef stock – 250ml
Tomato puree – 2 tbsp
Tomato passata – 1 carton of 500g
Linguine – 400g
Olive oil – 2 tbsp
Basil – small pack of leaves
Bolognese Method
1. Brown the mince in a hot pan with olive oil
2. Add your grated or crushed garlic
3. Cook for a few minutes
4. Add your beef stock
5. Put in the tomato passata
6. Cook for two hours
7. Add the shredded basil and stir
Linguine Method
1. Bring a large pan of water to the boil
2. Add plenty of salt
3. Put in your linguine
4. Cook until al dente
5. Mix the pasta and sauce together and serve
