National Fitness Day is an annual event designed to highlight the importance of physical activity in helping us all to lead healthier, happier lives. It’s all about encouraging people who perhaps may not lead too much of an active lifestyle currently to expand their horizons and give new activities a go in an attempt to make fitness an integral part of their lives.
Getting involved with National Fitness Day Events
The aim is to make National Fitness Day the most active day of the year and there are events taking place at Everyone Active centres all over the country in order to mark the day on 26th September 2018. These include a free 30-minute Wake up to Fitness Workout, with sessions beginning at 07:30, 08:00 or 08:30. These sessions will comprise of Boot Camp classes, a group cycling session, an Everyone Active HIIT class, BODYPUMP, Virtual RPM, Virtual BODYPUMP, a circuit class, core fitness, Zumba classes or a total body workout, depending on your centre.
Alternatively, other centres will be offering free fitness sessions throughout the day, with a huge variety of different classes available, depending on which centre you attend. Among others, these include all-day gym access, rowing and cycling challenges, HIIT sessions, Sh’bam, Disco Zumba, Kettlebell Boot Camp and a host of other activities for people to try completely free.

Everyone Active will also be co-hosting a flagship event with ukactive – National Fitness Day’s organisers – at London’s Guildhall that will feature a host of sporting stars and activities for local school children to try.
Hurdling legend and Everyone Active Sporting Champions Ambassador Colin Jackson will be there encouraging everyone to get more active. Meanwhile, double Olympic gymnastics champion and Sporting Champion athlete Max Whitlock will also be there, giving local children the chance to try the new Max Whitlock Gymnastics scheme – developed in partnership with Everyone Active – absolutely free.
