Since the Team GB women’s hockey team’s triumph at the 2016 Rio Olympics, the sport has enjoyed a significant rise in popularity.
Alex Danson, captain of that epoch-defining team, as well as the current Team GB and England sides, has taken time out of training ahead of this year’s Women’s Hockey World Cup in London to talk to us aboiut all things hockey. In this video, she tells us more about her partnership with Everyone Active, her hockey academy and the forthcoming masterclasses she’ll be running with us. Alex will be attending each and every one of the masterclasses, which are aimed at older, more experienced hockey players than the academy sessions, helping inspire the next generation of hockey players to reach the same heights as Alex and her team mates have.
Watch the videos to discover more about Alex’s masterclasses, what it is she wants them to achieve and how you can get involved with the academy. She also discusses the forthcoming home World Cup, the Olympic triumph, her training and the choices she’s made to make it this far in her chosen sport.
