About this Centre
Stevenage Arts and Leisure Centre is a large, multi-purpose facility. Its explicit aim is to give those in the local area access to both top-notch sports and leisure services, as well as the arts.
On the sporting side of things, the centre features a spacious and versatile eight court sports hall, a six-rink indoor bowls facility, a wonderfully appointed 125-station gym, three group exercise studios and three squash courts. The centre also features the Healthy Hub, a one-stop-shop for providing information, advice and support for improving the health and wellbeing of the community.
Elsewhere, we also have a large cafe, conference facilities, three meeting/conference rooms and the jewel in our crown – the 501-seater Gordon Craig Theatre – which stages a variety of high-quality productions throughout the year.

This fabulous 125 station gym has everything anyone could want from a fitness suite. Whether you’re a regular gym-goer already, or you’re just starting out, you’re certain to find something for you. We’ve got all the latest cardio, resistance, functional and free weights kit, so whatever your workout, you can find it here.
Group Fitness Studio
Our three group exercise studios provide the home for a fabulous array of classes. Whether you’re looking for something fairly intense such as a Les Mills BODYPUMP class, or something more relaxed such as Yoga or Pilates, we’ve got something for everyone.
Sports Hall
Our large and versatile eight court sports hall is where you can enjoy a huge range of sports and activities. From badminton and table tennis to netball, basketball, football and just about everything in-between! We’ll also host some of our enormously popular birthday parties here!
Gordon Craig Theatre
The 501-seat Gordon Craig Theatre is a fantastic addition to this facility. Every year the team organises a wide variety of productions to suit everyone – from pantomime to opera – and everything in-between, while it’s also available for private hire and suitable for a range of events. To help quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger, there’s also a Theatre Bar and Bistro on-site, as a well as a coffee shop.
Events Hire
Here at the Stevenage Arts & Leisure Centre, we have a number of events spaces available for hire. There are three meeting and conference suites, each of which boasts the very latest in audio/visual and IT equipment. We're also able to host large corporate events, exhibitions and weddings in our main hall and bespoke indoor marquee. We have a full catering and bar service available, too.

If you are not ready for a membership, or do not use our centre on a regular basis then a “pay as you go” access may be better for you.
