About this Centre
Basildon Sporting Village offers a fantastic array of facilities. Swimmers can enjoy the Olympic-size swimming pool – that can be split into two 25m pools – and which is home to the Basildon and Phoenix Swimming Club. Meanwhile, the 112-station gym is packed with the latest kit.
There’s also an eight-court sports hall, which is host to a huge number of sports, including netball – we sponsor the Billercay Netball Club – while the centre is also home to the Basildon & District Netball Association, as well as the Flames Junior Netball Club.
Climbing is also a big deal here at the Basildon Sporting Village, with an indoor climbing wall that includes routes that are perfect for both beginner and expert climbers alike and it’s here that we work closely with Rock Hub to help deliver our indoor climbing sessions.
We’re also home to the South Essex Gymnastics Club, as well as Olympic champion gymnast Max Whitlock. Meanwhile, athletes can take advantage of our 400m running track and other athletics facilities, where both the Basildon Athletics Club and the East Essex Triathlon Club train.
Of course, one of our main aims is to help improve the all-round health of the local community. That’s why we’ve partnered with organisations such as the Knights GP Surgery, Connect Health and Sports for Confidence, to help build our members’ physical and mental health.
This centre has implemented a cashless system. This has significantly reduced queuing times and improved customer service.

Swimming Pool
Our competition standard 50m, eight-lane swimming pool is a flexible space for swimmers of all ages and abilities to enjoy. It can be converted into two 25m pools, and there’s also our teaching pool too. Basildon’s an ideal place to learn to swim on our award-winning Swim Scheme. 
Sports Hall
From badminton to basketball, netball and table tennis, our eight-court sports hall is available to hire for a whole host of activities. Our fantastic sports centre also hosts innumerable activities throughout the year.
