About this Centre
The brand-new, £20 million state-of-the-art Alton Sports Centre replaces the previous building on the same site. With superb new facilities and a fantastic range of activities for the whole community to enjoy, Alton Sports Centre is the perfect place for everyone to get active.
For swimmers there’s a fantastic new hi-tech six-lane main pool, while the learner pool is ideal for getting the kids started on their swimming journey. If you prefer getting a sweat on in the gym, there’s a fantastic new facility that’s packed with all the latest kit, whether you prefer a cardio, weights-based or mixed workout.
There are also dedicated group cycling studious, group fitness studios, a Top Rock clip and climb wall and much more besides. The centre also boasts a large café, too, while the Chawton Park Spa is the perfect place to relax and unwind.
The East Hampshire Leisure Card applies a discount to activities on site for those that are in receipt of certain benefits, and live in the East Hampshire District.

Alton Sports Centre Facilities
Gym
The superb new 130-station gym boasts all the latest equipment from the likes of Technogym. Whether you prefer a cardio workout, spend most of your time in the free-weights area or if you like to mix it up, you’ll find what you need with us. If you need a little more guidance, then we also offer Personal Training and Small Group Training in our fitness suite.
Group Fitness Studio
Our group fitness studio plays host to a variety of different classes. Whatever your fitness goals may be, you’re sure to find the right class for you, while the social nature of the sessions means you can meet new people too.
Swimming Pool
Alton Sports Centre boasts two superb pools. The six-lane main pool includes touchpad timers, starting blocks and space for up to 150 spectators, making it ideal for galas. It also plays host to our award-winning swimming lessons, as well as fun swimming sessions, public sessions and a variety of other dedicated sessions. We also have a smaller learner pool, where the kids can begin leaning to swim.
Top Rock Climbing
Top Rock is a fantastic way to get into climbing. Perfect for the whole family, this clip and climb facility is one of the best in the area, with 19 routes to enjoy, each of which gives their own unique challenge. Full of colour, exciting shapes, Top Rock climbing is a great way to celebrate birthday parties with friends and family or get fit and active; either by yourself, or with others.
