Everyone Active’s Age Is Just A Number campaign aims encourage a greater number of older people to get physically and mentally active this Autumn!
What is Age is Just a Number?
Now in its fourth year, Everyone Active’s Age is Just a Number campaign is designed to encourage people of all ages to get active or try out a new activity this year. Not only will this help increase their fitness levels, but it’s likely to have a positive impact on their mental health, as well as improving mobility and social interaction.
We offer a wide range of activities that are great for everyone and we also deliver specialised classes developed to appeal to older people. With more than 230 centres all over the country, these activities are easy to access, too. You can sign up below to find out more about them and start your exercise journey right now!
By signing up, people can find out more about local senior sessions, as well as being in with a chance to win a six-month adult membership* and receive inspirational videos from our fantastic senior members!
Silver Sunday
Silver Sunday was launched in Westminster in 2012 by The Sir Simon Milton Foundation, a Westminst…er-based charity, and Lady Christabel Flight. The campaign launches on Saturday, October 5 – the same weekend as Age UK’s Silver Sunday, the national day for older people – and will run until Sunday, November 17.
Over that period senior activity sessions will be held at centres across the country, so wherever you are, you’re sure to be able to enjoy some activities with us.
There are loads of activities available, depending on which centre you attend; including Zumba, table tennis, pickleball, badminton, short tennis, walking football, other walking sports, squash, seated exercise, community cafés, senior circuits and so much more!
